Sewing instructions and ideas for BERNINA India National lunch bag sewing contest

Here are the sewing instructions and ideas for sewing patterns for the "basic" lunch bag

Materials:
  • 0.4 m outer fabric
  • 0.4 m lining
  • BERNINA Sewing machine or any other brand sewing machine
  • Edgestitch foot no. 10/10C or similar

Size:

31 * 16 * 12

Cutting out:

2x outer fabric and lining as per drawing above

Basic Instructions:

Embellish bag, and depending on closure type, attach closure at this point. Place bag sections together with right sides facing and close side seams and base seam. Sew base corners with side seams and base seams meeting up precisely. Sew bag lining in the exact same way. Press seam allowances inwards on top edges of outer fabric and lining. Place one section inside the other with wrong sides facing and stitch top edges together with the edgestitch foot or similar.

Here are some ideas for your creativity

Pintuck lunch bag

Pintucks and assorted sewn-on ribbons lend a playful and romantic touch to this lunch bag. The pintuck and decorative-stitch foot with clear sole lets you sew accurate pintucks quickly and easily. Thanks to the presser-foot guide, the decorative stitches in between practically sew themselves.

" Break and lunch " bag

A real eye catcher! The new BERNINA Embroidery Software Version 7 “puffy” 3D fonts make it a breeze to sew simple but striking appliqués. Talk about working up an appetite…

" Hook and loop " lunch bag

Your break-time snack will be ready to go in no time  flat with this practical hook-and-loop variant. Wipe-clean oilcloth makes the ideal lining.

Rustic lunch bag

The genuine-leather handle makes carrying this lunch bag a breeze, whilst the decorative topstitching lends it a rustic look. Also suitable for him!

" Statement lunch " bag

Designing your own stamp and making a statement is simplicity itself with the DesignWorks Software and the PaintWork Tool. With its smart toggle closure, this lunch bag also makes a nice little gift.

We're looking forward to active participation from your end!
